The first comic of "Techhouse. And Me." was drawn after my walk home turned into an impulse-buy detour through the RISD store. After drawing the first strip, I drew another. And then another. I have quite a collection now, and am still baffled by it.

For starters, is it really a comic strip? It looks like one. Sometimes it's even funny. But if you're a stickler for accuracy, it might be better described as something else. I haven't figured out what that "something else" would be, yet, but if you do, please let me know. In the meantime, I will stop worrying about it and keep drawing.

The overall style of the comic strip has been dubbed "becature" by one of my friends. It is derived from a long, long history of self-portrait doodling in the margins of my notebooks, which gradually became more cartoon-like.

The comic is pencilled on Strathmore Bristol smooth, two-ply paper using a mechanical #2 pencil, or whatever is nearest at hand. It is inked with Sakura Pigma Micron 005-08 and Graphic 1-3 pens. Rulers and erasers are also used.
